We started this walk from Le Panicaut, a B&B and 'ferme biologique', beautifully situated on a hilltop near Francillon-sur-Roubion which will give you extremely nice views of the 'Massif de la foret de Saou' and "la montagne de Couspeau'.
The first part leads you to the Col de Pascalin along a quiet narrow road. From the col we took the road that goes up and left this road after about 500 metres to follow a track to a place called Lombard et Peureux and after this followed the track skirting the woods up to the point where it meets a narrow road. This road will give you wonderful views of Roche Combe and the whole Saou ridge to Les Trois Becs and further south east.
After passing Pequimbert we followed the D 233 for about 800 metres and then took the track passing les Magnats. At the first signposted junction we took the track descending through the woods to Le Poët Célard, a historic track called 'Ecolier'.
You will have a nice view of Le Poët Célard built around its chateau and the chateau grounds are open to the public.
From Le Poët Célard we followed the D 238 for about 2 kilometres and at a place called Les Auches we took the track through the woods that will lead you to Le Panicaut.
This is a pleasant walk giving you good views at many times of the imposing landscape. The only drawback is that a great part is along roads. However, these roads are very quiet.
