If you want to reach the highest point of Paraguay, you can do this as follows:
-drive to the small town of Gral Eugenio Alejandrino Garay
-at the local police station (on the left side of the main road), turn left - there starts a small road
-follow this road. Quite soon it will turn to a common paraguayan dust/dirt track. You will come to a wooden gate that you can simply open
-drive through and follow the road for 3-4 kms, until you reach the Base station
-you will have to register + pay 35000 gs / person (foreigner)
-the path is indicated quite good
bring decent trekking shoes, water, some snacks and gloves (very helpful for going down on the ropes)
