We went high on the mountain and the Clouds were around and below us.
We had a beautiful misty hike, we didn't encounter Sun during our hike till the end.
We gained 1000 meters elevation and 10 kms long trail.
Hiked Wadi Ghail- Bahar village -Tafifi village- Wadi Sal. Near Leopard Canyon area. Ras al Khaimah.
Wikiloc, Only for Reference. There can be errors on the GPS recording due to GPS Jumping in the Wadi / Mountain Sections.
I have been Fortunate to be acquainted with some Ace Hikers of the region with vast experience.
We started the Hike from the usual Leopard Canyon hike stat point, BUT we enteerd into the Right side Wadi that goes along the offroad.
We went up all the way to the Bahar village via the Donkey trail. It is a Steep Trail up and has some impressive views of Wadi Ghail, Vertical drop Canyons and the general view of the area.
Once we reached Bahar village, we hiked some more upwards in the Right side and we reached our own Summit of 1325 Meters from where the views would be impressive, but we were covered with Clouds and Mist all the time.
From the Summit, we descended down towards the right in the direction of Saliyah village on top of Yanas mountain and we reached the beautiful village of Tafifi.
While descending, we also had nice views of Saliyah village.
Later we took the trail down to touch Wadi sal offroad, and entered into the Wadi Sal to descend all the way down to the Parking area through the Wadi.
This Wadi has small and medium boulders and have few small drops that can be avoided and climbed down BUT NO ROPE is needed.
This Hike was a beautiful one for Cloudy weather all through.
Good elevation gain in a short distance and beautiful scenery and villages on the way.
